What if my contraception fails?


Accidents happen - condoms break, contraceptive pills can be missed, diaphragms slip. Even if you take your contraception properly, there is always the possibility (although very small) that it could fail and result in an unplanned pregnancy.

If you think your contraceptive has failed, don’t panic. There are a number of options available.

Emergency contraception

Two main types of emergency contraception: Emergency contraceptive pill and the intrauterine device (IUD).
